Eligibility

 

1.  Must be a resident of Pennsylvania.

2.  Must be a high school graduate.

3.  Must demonstrate financial need.

4.  Must be enrolled full-time.

5.  Must have and maintain at all times a minimum GPA of 3.0 or its equivalent.

6.  Must demonstrate personal initiative.

7.  Must demonstrate civic responsibility.

8.  Must have been accepted by an institution of higher learning before making application for assistance.  Application may be made at any time during a student's undergraduate or graduate career.

9.  Required application papers:

 

     a.  Standard application for the John G. Williams Scholarship Foundation.

     b.  John G. Williams Scholarship Foundation Financial Need Form, to be              

          completed by your school.

     c.  Standard FAF (Financial Aid Form), which can be obtained online or from your school's  

          financial aid office.

     d.  Transcript of grades for the most recent academic year.

     e.  Evidence of acceptance/attendance by college or graduate school.

     f.  Two character recommendations.

     g.  Since special attention will be given to applicants who, because of financial      

          circumstances, would be unable to attend college or graduate school without   

          the Foundation, applicants are required to submit a written essay  

          explaining why they should receive Foundation assistance.

 

10. Application Deadline: June 15

                           

It shall be the applicant's responsibility to ensure that all required application materials have been received by the Foundation in one package prior to the application deadline (including the Financial Need Form to be completed by the applicant's school's financial office). Incomplete applications will not be reviewed, which will result in the Foundation being unable to grant financial assistance. Applications should be mailed as a complete package and not faxed to the Foundation.
